Depending on best fit, successful candidates may have opportunities within our Grassroots (U4–U8), Developmental (U8–U12), or Competitive (U13–U17) programs. This is an exciting opportunity to develop as a coach while making a meaningful impact on the next generation of players.
ABOUT OUR CLUB:
Internazionale SC of Edmonton is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing players of all ages and skill levels through high-quality, inclusive soccer programming. Founded in 1987, our club is built on the belief that soccer is for everyone—regardless of background, culture, or ability. Our mission is to foster the physical, mental, and emotional development of youth in North Edmonton, providing opportunities to grow and compete through the sport of soccer at the highest level.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As an Internazionale SC of Edmonton coach, you will help foster a supportive and challenging environment where players can grow both on and off the field. This role involves leading or assisting with training sessions, supporting individual and team development, and promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of the game. You will be joining a collaborative team of experienced coaches and will work under the guidance of the club’s Technical Director; Ross Ongaro.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate training sessions aligned with the club’s curriculum and weekly themes.
- Follow established practice guides that create learning environments balancing the four pillars of the game: technical, tactical, physical, and psychosocial development.
- Support game-day coaching and player development initiatives, as required.
- Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Deliver clear, constructive feedback to promote individual and collective growth.
- Work collaboratively with fellow coaches and club staff to uphold the club’s vision, values, and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Canada Soccer–recognized coaching certification appropriate to the age group (e.g., Grassroots, C License, or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Respect in Sport – Activity Leader certification (or ability to complete prior to the season).
- Current Criminal Record Check (required for working with youth).
- Emergency First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous playing and/or coaching experience in a youth soccer environment is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with players, parents, and fellow coaches.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Passion for youth development and alignment with the club’s long-term player development philosophy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a structured coaching program under technical leadership.

COACHING STIPEND:
- Compensation will be determined based on relevant qualifications, certifications, experience, and program placement.
- This is a part-time, hourly position requiring availability during evenings and weekends, with flexible scheduling.
