OUR CLUB HISTORY / MISSION
CLUB HISTORY:
In 1987, eight young soccer enthusiasts decided it would be a great idea to form a club dedicated to the sport of soccer in Edmonton, Alberta. Being of Italian origin, the colors and name of Italy's top soccer team came to mind, hence the name INTERNAZIONALE and the blue and black striped jersey.
The Edmonton Internazionale SC of Edmonton's debut was in the 1987/1988 indoor season with just three teams participating: U10, U12 and U21 Boys. The U10 team went on to win the gold medal in Provincials. In the 21 years since, INTERNAZIONALE teams have won an abundance of medals and championships.
The Edmonton Internazionale SC of Edmonton has prospered throughout the years due to the enormous support of its volunteers and members; including the:
- Board of Directors
- Coaches
- Players
- Parents
- Families
Bingos and casinos have also provided the bulk of the financial backbone resulting in a healthy financial position for the club.
The blue and black of INTERNAZIONALE is recognized across the country and abroad. The name "INTERNAZIONALE" has become our trademark within the soccer community here in Edmonton, and throughout Alberta. We are extremely proud of our numerous accomplishments including Provincial and National Championships.
